The HoGISFF Film Coordinator collaborates with our community film screeners, who evaluate and select films for inclusion in the competition and festival program. These films are then curated into our program to suit our audience's preferences. If needed, the Film Coordinator will source suitable films from alternative avenues to complete the 2025 program.

The Film Coordinator serves as the main point of contact for all filmmakers. Responsibilities include inviting filmmakers and their teams to attend the festival, following up via phone and email to discuss available services, and acting as their primary liaison during the festival.

Position status: [part time / contract]. The position requires flexibility and ability to work outside standard working hours

Contract Period: 1 May 2025 to 31 October 2025

Location: Gympie, Queensland and flexible/remote options available.

Remuneration: $15,000 including superannuation - indicate if you are registered for GST

We are looking for a highly organised, skilled person with strong team and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will have a ‘can do’ attitude with excellent problem-solving skills. 

SELECTION CRITERIA - ESSENTIAL

1. At least 2+ years demonstrated experience working in the film industry

2. Ability to attend the Festival on 10 to 12 October 2025 in Gympie, Queensland

3. Excellent communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders, including cross-culturally and with First Nations peoples

4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic work environment and ability to work well under pressure

5. Proven experience in multitasking and successfully delivering projects on time and within budget

6. Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace, and ability to adapt quickly to modern technologies and systems.

DESIRABLE

1. A passion for films, filmmaking, and the creative industries 

2. Prior experience programming and/or curating

3. Experience using FilmFreeway (https://filmfreeway.com)

4. Knowledge of Gympie and surrounding region and creative industries
